BIAB at the Standing order. Pours murky orange with no head. Aromas of apple, wood. Taste is sour, dry, faint tickle of carbonation on the tongue. Light sour finish.

BIAB at Tanners Hall JDW Darlington. Hazy yellow gold colour, no head and funky apple nose. Flavour is mellow apple, sour vinegar, oaky and barnyard notes, bittersweet with drying tannins. Oily mouthfeel, medium bodied, low carbonation, very dry tart and tannic at the finish. Nicely drinkable.

Bag in box at the standing order. Pours golden yellow, nose is funky, apple, oak, taste is dry, tart apple, little sour.

Polycask @ GBBF 2013, Great British Beer Festival, London Olympia, Hammersmith Road, London, England W14 8UX. [ As Venton Applevice Straw Pressed (5) ].ABV: 6.5%. Unclear medium yellow color with virtually no head. Aroma is moderate apple, horse blanket, earthy - honey notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light acidic with a long duration, tart apples, wood, sweet apple, dry. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is flat. [20130815]

Draft @ Beer in Hand, Hereford. Whisky-cask fermented says the blackboard above the bar and this definitely exudes a distinct, though not over-powering, whisky-like tang with a subtle cider-barn dryness.

From cask, 6.5% version. Pours hazy yellow with a fully gone head. Aroma is apples, citrusy andlight sulphorish. Tart, dry apples and mild citric mixed with sulphorish notes into the finish.
