Deep amber with a creamy, off-white head. The advertised oak aroma dominates. Caramel underneath and a mild, yeasty dankness. Taste is moderate bitter the whole way through, burnt at the finish. Body to the full side of medium, moderate carbonation. Straightforward and relatively simple, but done nicely.

0.33 l bottle from 'EDEKA Grubendorfer', best before December 2023. Slightly hazy, deep reddish amber with a medium large, foamy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish, gently fruity, slightly woody aroma of orange peel, tea and some oak. Gently sweet, moderately bitter, slightly fruity taste of caramel, oak, some tea, light tobacco and hints of orange peel, followed by a short, slightly bitter, moderately woody finish. Medium body, smooth but quite effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Decent as usual.

Süßlich holziger Beginn mit starker Karbonisierung. Trocken herber Mittelteil, Eiche, moderate Bitterkeit. Das Bier wirkt eher plump, die Holznoten bringen keinerlei Komplexität ins Bier, Hopfen sucht mach vergeblich. Im Abgang wie zu Beginn holzig, hier aber trocken und bitter. Naja... 9/8/7/6/8/7

Paper wrapped bottle 33 cl. Pours a cloudy, opaque orangey amber with a dense, off-white head. Intense, chewy oak aroma. Surprisingly thin-bodied, vague caramel notes but otherwise it's oak flavor all the way through. Quite pleasant really, as the sharp tannins have been avoided. It's just smooth and pleasant oak - no Bourbon or other booze either. 250821
