Barrel Aged Russian Imperial Stout

Pitch black in colour with a rich milk chocolate aroma, thick, creamy palate and a light roastiness. Chewy and full with low, smooth bitterness. Decidedly delicious!

Draught @ MBCC'18 [ Yellow Session ]. - Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen 2018, Øksnehallen, Halmtorvet 11, 1700 København V, Danmark. [ As Devil's Peak Change of Season Barrel Aged Russian Imperial Stout ].Clear dark red brown colour with a average, frothy, good to fair lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, dark malt, bread, sweet malt, chocolate - sweet chocolate - milk chocolate. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, dark malt, bread, roasted, sweet malt, chocolate - sweet chocolate - milk chocolate. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20180511] 7-3-7-4-15

Tap@MBCC 2018 Yellow Session, Copenhagen - pours black with a brown head. Sweet and touch roasted malty with prominent milky chocolate, some caramel and fudge sweetness, smooth mouthfeel, medium to full body, hoppy backing, sweet malty finish.

Keg at MBCC 2018 Yellow (session Juan), 11/05/18. Light black with a decent tan covering. Nose is sweet malts, chocolate, toffee, light barrel. Taste comprises mellow roast, light barrel, chocolate biscuit, dark fruit rinds. Medium plus body, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok easy drinking impy but rumbling along in 3rd gear.

Nice fizzy-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet, dark sugar, worth, minerals, alcohol, cereal, roasted grain, hay, caramel, toast. Taste is slightly dry mineraly, weeds, minerals, bark, dark malts, toast, hay, alcohol, cereal, chocolate, paper, soil. Medium to longlasting bitterness, slightly dry roasted. Fair enough, boring.
