Art of Neurosis is literally the art of Steve’s neurosis. On of the staples at the brewery, AON was the first big batch that 2nd Shift ever produced and distributed. It actually took brewmaster Steve Crider 47 times to brew this beer before he considered it ready for the main stage.

AON is the first beer I made at the brewery. It is a hop sandwich brewed with Simoce & Columbus Hops, which are the greatest things in the world besides a good smack in the face.

Not sure if I’m missing the point of this IPA, but it doesn’t come across very IPA-like, instead offering up a flat herbal/floral bitterness and a mild citrus-salad sweet streak on the back end. Not terrible, but odd.

16oz can. Pretty solid, classic IPA, West Coast feel. Actual bitterness. Chewy but filtered out and clean at the same time. No hop burn, floury wheat/oat taste, so it comes off quite nice to me in 2020. Not quite a Double IPA, but full bodied and very enjoyable. Solid beer.

The aromas are onion, oxidized hops, wet grain and pale malt. Flavors are somewhat similar to nose, no fresh hops mildly bittersweet with good carbonation. from the score I thought it was going to be really good but it's a real disappointment.
