Lervig joined us to brew their famous Imperial Stout with 3 different beans added – Vanilla, Cacao, and the infamous Tonka bean. We took a small amount of it and barrel aged it on Rum barrels. Yum!

37,5cl Bottle. Vintage. Pours Black with a bubbly beige head. Coffee bean and vanilla. Thick. Soy and roast. Sweet, syrupy and one sided. Before it seriously began with these hideous cake beers.

Dark brown, looks flat, thick, motor oil. Smell is tonka, some rum. Trace amounts of carb, basically flat, but thick, boozy as heck. Taste is rich and deep, bit earthy. Tonka, dark chocolate, tobacco-like rum, almost leathery. Heavy beast, but delicious.

In comparison with the 3 bean stout. Light rum and oak in the aroma, sweet. Big body, loads of rum, sweet. I prefer the regular version (especially considering the price) - good but I prefer the regular version, way more 3 bean. Still great stuff though.

Draft. A black beer with a thin tan head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, coffee, and coconut. The flavor is sweet with notes of chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, and a bit of alcohol, leading to a bitter finish.
