Roast and cinnamon, medium chile. Chocolate and a little vanilla. Chile thins it out a bit, overwhelms some of the finer flavors. Comes off spicy and bitter. Black pour with mocha head and lacing. Cinnamon pretty potent too. Caramel as well in the finish, some tang from one of these spices probably. The tang throws me off more than anything. Can.

Opaque black sample at Churchkey, ring of beige head, light legs. Spicy nose, lots happening. Malt and caramel and dark brown sugar. Raisins and cinnamon. Flavor packs more. More malt, more dried fruit, more cinnamon and a big wave of peppery chili. Finish is long, peppery and boozy. Pretty nice though. 8 4 8 5 15

Panda, courtesy of SHIG, pours with a deep dark colored body that supports a thin dark tan colored head of bubbles. The aroma starts off with a blast of booze followed quickly by dark chocolate and thin echoes of vanilla. The taste delivers smooth slick modestly sweetened dark chocolate that quickly picks up a growing chili spiciness conjuring up warming in the back of the throat. To midway the boozy heat and the chili heat conspire together to grow the burn into the finish to pleasing heights of yum. A few more sips and vanilla becomes more and more noticeable at the edge of the flavour experience. Solid sipper.

Can thanks to my buddy Jerry (aka Jamie): Poured a pitch-black oil sludge with a very thin ring forming brown head. Aroma is boozy, roasted malts, cocoa/chocolate, chilies, smoke. Taste is thick roasted malts, chilies and alcohol sting, chocolate, dark fruits, ashy, smoke, molasses, this one burn so good!

Pint can from Appalachian Vintner, 5/21/23. New brewery! Brewery # 2162. USA # 1756, NC # 113. Superblack. Blacker than black. Large very dark brown head, poor retention. Aroma of coffee, cocoa, roast, chilis, smoke. Taste is smoke, chilis, soy, roast, coffee, cocoa. Lingering heat. Meh. Smelled okay but tastes gimmicky.
