On tap at Brewdog, Birmingham. Pours almost black with minimal beige head. The nose is understated, but has some roasted malts. In the mouth, the main sensation is of a fruity sourness, blueberries, plums, blackcurrants There’s a creamy texture and also sweet malts underneath if you look for them. Not bad, but the sourness is so obviously fake it puts you off.

Bottle, small stable bubbly head, very deep brown color with red hues, aroma of dark bread, dark honey, some vanila yeastiness and brett, flavor of plums with some barnyard and a hint of honey, medium mellow malty fruity sourness. Nice and sippable.

Panda at home, thanks to Fergus, 19/02/21. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a decent khaki cap that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is dried berry fruits, cola cubes, dark malts, herb, dusty hops. Taste comprises tangy berry fruits, light pine, dusty hops, pissy tones, red berry skins, acidic bimble. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light puckering edge. Fun enough easy drinking sour and take on the base beer.

Bottle at home from BD online. A hazy dark brown coloured pour with a lasting light tan head. Aroma is tangy apple, light must, prune, some brown bread, sour fruits. Flavour is composed of super sour, tangy, granny smith apple, toasted malts, underripe plum, clean citric acid. Lingering musty funk in the finish. Palate is super sharp tangy, mild pucker, moderate fine carbonation. Prefer the black ipa.Lingering tangy apricot.

Crowler from BD Inverurie. It pours pretty much black with a decent tan head. The aroma is roasty malts, sweet - sour, dark chocolate, coffee cake, jammy berry, tangy, bourbon biscuits and oak. The taste is dry, tart, bitter - sweet, tangy, berry skin, plum, toasty, roast, some umami, bitter chocolate, coffee, charred wood, vinous and strawberries with a splash of balsamic vinegar with a dry, toasty finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Strikes a nice balance. Works well.
