Refrigerated 12 oz. squat bottle poured into a snifter. Aroma is rich caramel, medium/thick body, medium carbonation, and nice small-bubble lacing. Taste is rich caramel, bourbon, oak, and chocolate.

12 oz. bottle, pours a deep dark brown / black with a small tan head. Nose is decadent and layered, with lots of bourbon upfront, molasses, caramel, dark fruits, cocoa and leather - that's pretty divine. Flavour is no less impressive, with lots of bourbon, molasses and leather upfront, followed by dried dark fruits, cocoa, and a touch of vanilla. The alcohol presence can be felt, but it's integrated well. Decadent and complex, without anything harsh or out of balance. As usual, another masterpiece to this anniversary series.

Bottle shared by Jack, thanks! Pours near black with an earthy dark brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has lots of toffee and vanilla with sweet bread and light coconut supporting. Flavor has a lot of toffee and caramel with oak, vanilla and a bit of tobacco.

Taster at Hops & Pie. Pours black, with a small, khaki head. The nose is milk chocolate, big coconut, caramel, sherry, and pecan. Sweet and malty, with a light bitterness. Very heavy body, with a syrupy, creamy palate. This is a delicious, boozy, and decadent beer.

12oz bottle from Brewers Haven. Dark brown, flat. Rich chocolate, nutty aroma, sweet, boozy. In the taste, the booze comes first, sweet, warmth, chocolate, molasses. Full, rich, heat. Exceptional.

12 oz boxed. Aroma has notes of coconut, toffee, smoke, cashew brittle, wet stone, raisin, chocolate, caramel, dark fruit. Pours very dark brown to black with a one finger beige head that falls pretty quickly into a ring. Taste is moderately to highly sweet with flavors like the aroma descriptors. Yet another amazing Anniversary beer from FW.

Main thing about this beer is how smooth and balanced it is. Reminds me somewhat of the balance of the Westvleteren beers of Belgium. Aromas are dark malt, toast, old leather, with a little coconut and molasses. I could do without the molasses. Flavors are similar to nose, definitely on the sweet side, but with enough carbonation and bitterness to balance. Decent finish and very good beer.

Bottle from Bine & Vine. Pours very dark brown with a slight, creamy tan head. Aroma is old. Old wood, old dark fruit, old! I almost passed out from the inhalation. It's that good. Leather! Light smoke! Wow. Full bodied as it comes. Flavor is toffee, smoke, leather, smooth burnt/toasted malt, non-musty wood; mixed dark fruits; a belch revealed chocolate. It swirls around the mouth in a magnificantly flavorful thickness. Heat? A mere flavor adjunct. OMFG is a good descriptor. Is this their best anniversary ale ever? ???
