The result this year is XXIV—a masterwork of richness and complexity, blended from six distinct ales aged primarily in bourbon barrels, with a small portion aged in tequila barrels.

Almost black colour, minimal creamy beige head aroma of prune, cherry bonbon (dried cherry soaked in alcohol and dark chocolate), chocolate mousse, dairy cream, Bordeaux wine, some soy sauce and maybe slight roasted nutty notes; taste is exactly the same with spicy-alcoholic-cherry liqueur-like aftertaste; amazing one! A real masterpiece!

Poured from 355mL bottle @ fiery's. Dark brown with nice light tan head. Bourbon, chocolate, some dark fruits, really nice. Great depth and balance.

(Draught at Beer Temple, Amsterdam, 19 Feb 2023) Dark brown colour, almost black, with foamy beige head. Malty, fruity, vinous nose with dried fruit, caramel, raisins, figs, oak wood and bourbon. Malty taste with notes of dried fruit, raisins, figs, bourbon, oak wood, vanilla, caramel, brown sugar and a vinous, warming finish with a mild spicy bitterness. Full body, quite sweet. Sweet, warming and really well balanced. Slow sipping stuff. Great beer.

Pours a deep dark colour with hardly any head. Aroma's: sweet, figs, bourbon, boozy, light umami. Retronasal: sweet, fruit, bourbon, Flavour is sweet, boozy fruity. Above medium bodied. Goes down easy. Long finish. Lovely stuff, as always

Absolute top notch beer. Wow is it perfectly made. Even mishandled out to netherlands it is top notch. Not too bitter, not a big ipa with malt. A barleywine-like body strong and robust without anything pokey. BeerTemple ams

Roast, some vanilla. Tequila just a snap, but more bourbon. Caramel and toffee. Dark brown pour without much head. Syrupy consistency. A little smoke. Plenty of residual oak. Tap at Dominion.

ABV: 11.3%. Cloudy medium black brown colour with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted - toasted, caramel, dark malt, wood, oak, dried fruit, malty, sweet malt, bourbon - barrel. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, sweet malt, caramel, dark malt, oak, wood, dried fruit, barrel - bourbon. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is warming and light alcoholic. [20211023]

Bottle pour from Total Wine & More, Brentwood. It's a dark, dark brown --virtually opaque--with ephemeral finger-width beige head quickly receding to a ring, light viscosity and no lacing. Aroma is strong, balanced bourbon, oak, dark fruit, caramel. Taste is strong bourbon, oak, earthy malt, toffee. Mouthfeel is medium side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth, frothy texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, great balance and complexity. Excellent sipper.

Bottle shared by tfontana. Thanks man! Aroma and flavor are a copy. Chocolate, rye, oak, vanilla. Very subtle bourbon. No alcohol burn. A beautiful blend.
