Our take on a mexican chocolate stout has a spicy backbone built from ancho chiles and cayenne peppers with vanilla and cacao nibs to balance the heat and a dash of cinnamon to round it out.
(from label)
Silky body with notes of vanilla and cinnamon, chocolate finish with a slight spice from peppers.

Medium brown, the aroma and palate are big cinnamon, basically thin, so it comes across like horchata, so it's decent, drinkable, but light and not especially complex. The ancho is worth something, but this requires residual sugars.

16 oz. can, pours a deep dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is dominated by the chili peppers and cinnamon, followed by subtle cocoa and vanilla. Flavour is very thin, dominated by cinnamon and chili. The palate is extremely thin; there’s little body and complexity. For an adjunct impie, this is pretty sad. Thin, lacking depth. This needs to go back to the drawing board.

Poured from 473mL can (pkg 01/03/2025). Dark brown with small beige head. Ancho, chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon, feint cayenne, thinner bodied, feint molasses. Average.

16oz can. Pours dark brown with minimal head. Cacao, cinnamon, chillies, and vanilla on the nose. Flavour has lots of cinnamon up front, notes of cacao and vanilla, and a low-to-moderate heat from the chillies on the finish. Fairly thin body. Pretty uninteresting and gimmicky.

(Can) (from Nathan) clear, bright, very dark brown color with a tall brown head; aroma of chocolate liqueur; balanced flavour with a long, light bitter sweet finish with some chili heat, watery palate

Aroma is cinnamon out of the gate, followed by chocolate and roasty malt. Taste is bittersweet like dark chocolate and has a fairly spicy pepper heat. Highly carbonated—more than usual for an imperial stout. A little thin, but good flavors.

16oz Can. Nearly black pour, with redish brown edges. Spicy peppers and dark chocolate throughout. More of the peppers later.. and lingering. Some ABV heat as well. Smooth but not overly sweet. Nice

16oz can from Craft Brewers. Inky black pour, small bubbly head fades to flat. Aroma dances a fine line between chocolate and chilis. Taste is Mexican chocolate for an instant before the chilis come in and add some heat, tingling the palate. Sweet heat, cinnamon.
