Oh yes! We are teaming up again with our Yorkshire buddies to again brew a monster of an IPA. After the first IPA, a session and an imperial IPA followed. This time we are stepping it up and ending the tradition with a bang...the monster IIIPA! a 18% ice distilled mayhem of an IPA Explosion of tropical fruits, packed with american hops and sweetness. The idea is to close of with a bang, however an even bigger beer is always in the line of possibilities...

Hazy orange-golden beer with a small off-white head. Intense C-hops, with a lot of asafoetida and lunaria. Sweet for the style, dry-ixh hops, bananapeel, dry grains. Only the sweetness and the heat back in the throat betrays the alcohol. This is monstrously dangerous. A bit of patience, and one finds the alcohol. But seen the blurb, I would have expected (and might have hoped for) a flavour bomb. Missed occasion.

440 ml. can. BBF 16/10/2018. Low hazy orange, little head. Nose is aromatic bitter thick pine resin syrup, hoppy and cloying syrup, sweet & thick hop syrup, esoteric oil, Turkish delight. Body is interesting, extremely thick like hop syrup. Low boozy but nothing brutal especially given the ABV, esoteric & tea oil hop syrup, medicinal pine resin, very thick hop syrup that is both sweet & bitter, tea, orange peel, massively thick, very interesting profile, almost too much but good. Beats 120 min I would say. Intense.

Tap at Arendnest, Amsterdam, 5th November 18. Pours clear and a little viscous. Aroma is clean, candied fruit. Taste is smooth, bitter and sweet, fresh citrus hops. Genius, not sure how it works or why they did it. Good muck

Can, all by myself, oh hell. Orange golden pour. Aroma of citrus, orange, bready malt, caramel, mango and pineapple. Taste has juicy orange, citrus, bready malt, pineapple, mango, caramel and mango. Finish has some alcohol warmth, but I wouldn't suspect this as a 18% beer. They did their old enough to drink trick again. Very well done and even tasty.

Pineapple, melon, papaya, pine, some passion fruit, sugar. Sweet and hoppy and holy shit, is that 18% ABV well-hidden! Feels like 8%. 3.8

44cl Can from Uiltje Taproom, enjoyed straight from the can on a park bench, in the spirit of the bum juice that this is. Aroma of thick sweet malts, oranges, some marmalade, sweaty hops, citrus, resin. Flavour is sweet, malty, oranges, caramel, citrus, hint of alcohol, firm bitterness, marmalade. Full bodied. Doesn’t drink like it’s 18%. Way too expensive for what this is, could’ve done with a whole lot less alcohol, but very well made.
