Bottle pour shared by AirForceHops--thanks, Chris! Appearance is opaque black with thin cap of light brown head with decent retention and no lacing. Aroma is initially burnt wood; lightly fruit/synthetic plastic as it warms. Taste is burnt wood, mild banana, hint of maple syrup, and roasted coffee. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with frothy texture, soft carbonation, mild alcohol warmth and finish as taste. Overall, subtle aspects of what is advertised but not a decadent Banana Foster experience.

16 oz. can. Aroma shows earthy malt and over roasted grain. The mouthfeel is thick with a somewhat creamy texture. Flavor has a hint of coffee with some molasses. I can’t say I find banana any place. For the amount of money I spent on the can I feel cheated. Buyer beware!

16 oz can from Boise Coop. Black pour with a small, spotty brown head. Aroma is chocolate and coffee with some roasty malts. Taste mirrors the aroma with some very subtle banana flavors thrown in.

16 oz from a four pack from the brewery. Aroma is dark bread, cigar ash, wet stone, coffee, light banana, hint of maple syrup. Pours black with a two finger dark tan head with excellent retention. Taste is moderately sweet and savory with a nice bitter edge balancing it out; ends slightly dry. The maple syrup comes through a lot more in flavor and the banana is more of an accent than the star of the show. This is a great beer that's not too sweet with a nice healthy bitterness to rein it in.
