22oz from Costco at Alex's shared with Andrey. Appearance: very dark brown with tan head. Aroma: rosehip berries characther coming probably from cardamom, some chocolate. Taste: along the same lines, quite roasty and fruity. Overall: ok.

Bottle from cellar. Dark brown pour, flat. Cola aroma, cardamom, spice. Taste brings more spice, kind of dominates the whole brew.

Bottle from Steve’s cellar. Clear dark brown pour, coarse tan head quickly dissipated earthy coffee aromas up front Flavors have a little tootsie roll. Some strange spooned notes as well.

Bomber. Pours a pitch black hue with a small brown head. A big nose of roast, licorice, light whiskey. Initially this was a bit too sweet, huge licorice, it warms to more coffee, vanilla, some soft dark fruit, roast. Quite nice. Big coffee, some metallic notes.

Tap at Cap Hop. Pours dark brown with a light tan head. Aroma has coffee, chocolate and anise. Med plus body. Flavor is slightly toasty dark malt with coffee, chocolate, anise and maybe cardamom. Gotta review my idea of that last. Not dry, but only mildly sweet. Bitter, but from coffee or malt or? Very smooth, well integrated flavors. As always, Deschutes did a very nice thing.

Waxed bomber. Aroma is roasty, licorice, cardamom, coffee, chocolate. Pours dark brown--nearly black--with a one finger beige head. Taste is sweet, roasty, boozy. A little rich for me to really love this, but it's not bad.
