Kräftig golden, mit 18,6% Stammwürze und 7% Alkohol handelt es sich bei unserem Josefi-Bock um einen Doppelbock, wie er im Buche steht.
Im Antrunk vollmundig, mit ausgeprägter Hopfennote des Spalter Aromahopfens und leicht karamelligem Körper lässt sich beinahe erahnen was dahinter steckt. Die kräftige Hopfenbittere paart sich bestens mit der leichten Malzsüße zu einem harmonischen Erlebnis, welches lange in Erinnerung bleibt.

Bottle. Slightly hazy golden color with white head. Aroma is honey melon, pale malts, very fruity. Taste is melon, Fruchtgummi, cereals, juicy malts. Oily mouthfeel with natural carbonation. Fantastic Heller Bock!

Hell im Glas, in der Nase Kekse, Spekulatius. Im Trunk Honig, Keks, süß. Dann bitter, malzig, leicht alkoholisch, Holz. Sehr lecker, gefährlich gut trinkbar.

Bottle from Landbierparadies. Blonde, clear, with a tall, fine head. Sweet malt nose, corn, peaches. Estery and crackery. Boozy and sweet bread and crackers, good hoppy bitter finish. Full and oily body, with low carbonation. A decent heller bock, though not great. A bit too boozy, but the hops balance well.

Schöne goldgelbe Farbe im Glas, süßlich-malziger Geruch. Der Antrunk ist mild-würzig, fruchtig-frisch. Die 7% sind nicht zu schmecken. Zum Hauppteil hin wird das bier voluminöser, ganz leichte helle Bockbiernoten tun sich auf. Auch eine leichte Bitterkeit bereichert das Ganze, zum Nachgeschmack hin kann sie sich immer wieder durchsetzten. Dazu eine milde hell-bockbiertypische Süße. Auf der Zunge bleibt diese lang anhaltende, aber keineswegs penetrante Herbe lange erhalten, mit ihr eine harmonische Süße, die aber eher als die Herbe ausklingt.

500 ml bottle thanks hugely to ErlangerNick. Clear gold lasting thick white head. Its pretty good. Lovely easy drinking strong lager. No alcohol heat to speak of but good malts full in mouth and good bitter hopped finish. Really rather good. Drunk in hotel room in Salzburg.

Autumn sun. I get some kilned malt on this. This beer has a crisp finish. Almost smoky at times. I expected something completely different.

Bottle @ Bamberg. Pours dark golden with a creamy white head and lacings. Very grainy. A bit of alcohol and caramel. Medium bodied.

Flavor is straight-forward, standard, clean helles bock: malty base, grainy notes, some citrus/herbal hoppyness and alcohol. Not as sweet as many other German strong bocks. Lingering bitterness and alcohol in the aftertaste. Ok.

bottle. Clear golden colour, mid-sized head. Hoppy nose. Full-bodied, solid malty base with lots of resiny-citrusy hops. Bitter-sweet, reminds me of an American IPA.

Bottle (enjoyed the last night at the hotel before leaving). Orangeish golden colour with mediumsized fluffy white head, that leaves some lace. Aroma is bready malts, some hayish notes as well as alcoholic sweetness. Flavour is quite much the same with alcohol giving quite a burn. Also some herbal and slightly spicy notes.
