The forerunner of not just a style but an entire movement, the Pale Ale first created by Sierra Nevada Brewing Company back in November of 1980 kick-started American craft brewing. So you can imagine our excitement when Scott from Sierra Nevada came to our Columbus brewhouse, joining forces on a 5.0% Pale Ale to be an exclusive to Draft House. Highly aromatic thanks to the US hops, this beer is piney, citrus-forward, paying homage to the style that took America by storm

Taster flight at Draft House. Amber body with small, fine head, rings of lacing. Malty aroma, trailing sweetness, woody. Taste brings caramel with floral and piney notes. A bit drying, but has a tingly finish.

Keg at Draft House Birdcage - London. Pours clear honey-gold with a tight, creamy white head. Simple stuff, some sun-kissed bready pale malts, dried pine, orange peel, a little grassy bitterness and nibbles of caramel. Light to medium bodied with massaging carbonation. Alright balance in the finish, fairly malty, more rind and pine. Alright overall.

Keg at Draft House Charlotte, 30/01/19. Golden amber with a decent off white cap. Nose is airy malts, melon, tangerine, straw. Taste comprises bitter orange, grass, pineapple, toasted grains, light bread dough, melon. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with balanced hop bitterness. Ok pale but not one I'd revisit.

Kwg at the draft house Charlotte. A clear deep orange amber coloured pour with a sticky white head. Aroma is simple base malts, subtle hops, light pine, gummy bears, dry pine. Flavour is composed of semi sweet Base malts, layered malt character, nice pine tips, dried orange, cut grass. Palate is semi sweet, rounded, moderate carbonation. Semi crisp finish. Very drinkable.

Keg at Draft House Charlotte St. It pours clear amber with a rugged white head. The aroma is fresh, perfumed, oily orange, tangerine, plenty of piney resin, bit of grass and spice. The taste is dry, bitter, oily, pine, resinous, sticky, grass, general citrus peel vibe and light tannin with a drying finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Decent APAm definetely had that Sierra Nevada influence.
