(bottle, 75cl) Hazy, pale golden colour with a blond and firm medium-sized foamy head. Moderately yeasty-spicy and wheaty aroma with notes of lemon, white bread and delicately flowery hops. Mildly sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a modest carbonation. Initially grainy and slightly mineralic taste with hints of white bread and lighter fruity notes; mildly sweet and restrained bitter finish. Decent but somewhat lacks the “Belgian” character. 08.II.18

Hazy yellow. Aroma is lemon, wheat, shortbread, a hint of tropic fruit, hints of funk. Taste is sweet wheat juice, with some good umami. Low carbonation, quite smooth.

0.75 l bottle from 'Sonnenschein', bottled in September 2017. Clear, golden yellow with a medium large, foamy, almost stable, white head. Sweetish, slightly fruity-floral and moderately yeasty-spicy aroma of lemon peel, hay, coriander, some banana and traces of clove. Moderately sweet, a little sourish, spicy, moderately fruity and a bit yeasty taste of lemon peel, hay, dill, coriander, some banana and hints of clove, followed by a short, moderately bitter, a little tart, spicy and a little yeasty finish. Almost medium-bodied, smooth and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, average to lively carbonation. Refreshing, well-balanced Wit which has some similarities with a Saison, despite the typical spicy notes.

Fläschla (750ml): Pale golden, cloudy, bigger and pretty stable beaten-egg-white-like head; sourish fruity-lemony nose with some forgotten yeasty and hoppy spots; both a bit fizzly and quite soft; light to medium bodied, mild to moderate sourish-sweetish flavour; lingering citrussy and grainy finish with a late Saazy bitterness in the aftertaste. Besides the incredibly WITty pun "WIT-Bier aus WITten" a well crafted nice summer-drink...

Danke an Erzengel. Trocken hefiger Antrunk, mild fruchtig, wässriger Hintergrund. Etwas Zitrus, süffig, monoton, die Wässrigkeit nimmt zu. Keine Hopfigkeit, zum Ende süßlich. Okay. 8/7/8/7/8/7

75cl Bottle from the brewery. Pale white colour, slightly sourish nose. The beer starts fresh and fruity. Very mild with sweetish hints. The herbal witbier aroma is in the back, a layer of sweetish grain on top. Should be much dryer for this style, the spicy floral hops turning in till the end, creating a dryer spicier aftertaste with wheat and witbier yeast there.
All in all a nice brew, but the grainy sweetness is a bit too high for the style. Nevertheless easy to drink, refreshing with nice herbal bitter hop characteristics.
