Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up at Clapton Craft. Pours clear copper-brown with a modest, foamy tan head. Nice gear, lots of well toasted caramel, bread, a little earth, alcohol, toffee, coffee, nips of cocoa. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine to average carbonation. Warming finish, more toasted sugars, a little molasses, more burnt caramel. Fun.

Keg at BrewDog Tower Hill. Dried fruit, marzipan and caramel aroma. Murky opaque brown. Creamy beige head with a lot of lacing although it does thin out. Medium sweet before some bitterness creeps in. Thick bodied. Creamy. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long astringent. Not too shabby but wouldn't have a session on these as it would get too sweet.

Keg at the Euston Tap, West Lodge, 03/12/18. Mahogany brown with a well presented beige cap that lasts well. Nose is dried fruits, boozey exhaust, toffee brown sugar vinous. Taste comprises fruit cake, dates, brown sugar, stewed fruits, raisins, kiss of alcohol, nutty, brown bread, light spice. Medium plus body, fine carbonation, mellow warming boost at the curtain call. Solid.

Draft at Mother Kelly's Vauxhall. Mahogany pour, skin of head. Aroma is woody, dark bread, boozy. Taste follows the nose, deep and full, warming. Another of my favorite styles, all too rare to find.
