Golden colour, tiny white head. Fruity, spicey aroma. Light-bodied. Belgian yeast esters, some spices. Very easy. At Fiala Brothers.

Pint can from Deli Lama, 10/23/22. Hazy orange, large rocky off-white head, good retention. Aroma of bready malt, mustard, earth. Taste is stone fruit, strawberry, bready malt, candi sugar, yeast. Hints of booze. Thin. Nice overall. New brewery! Brewery #2125, USA #1720, Illinois #81.

Pour is a hazy blonde with a average white head. Aroma is green apples and sugar. Flavor is white sugar with dry pils type malt with some green herbal hop. Finish is again very sweet, with 500 lbs of Belgian candi sugar it is expected. As a Duvel clone it was going in the right direction but the sweetness kind of took over and made this just ok.

Sample at the taproom. Clear straw-gold color with a medium thin white head that evaporates quickly to a film. Spotty lace. Fruit, yeast, spice and malt in the nose. Yeast, fruit, malt and spice in the nose. Medium body with flavors of herbal yeast, banana, clove and grainy malt. The finish is yeast and malt. Decent overall.

Draft at Bella. Light golden, bright, small cap of head lasts. Pretty damn close to a tripel. Belgian yeast figures prominently in the aroma and taste. Butter, grains, clove, floral. Smooth, nice feel. Nice.

Draft at Standard Market in July, $6. Brassy gold color with a thin, fizzy head. Light, slightly malty smell, with a barely noticeable alcohol nose. First taste has some cherry to it, but then it’s malt forward the rest of the way. Just enough hops to keep it from tasting sugary, so it has that over many other strong beers. Cherry taste comes back midway through. Finishes with strong malts, and again only a slight alcohol presence. Enjoyable surprise.
