We use eight pounds of fresh hops per barrel to brew this beer, but it's absolutely worth it. There are distinct flavors and aromas that you can only get brewing with fresh hops. Brewed in small batches, this beer is only available during harvest.

Each hop variety reaches peak maturity at a different time during harvest, so each year’s brew is unique. This year's fresh-hop harvest yielded big, juicy Magnum hops which add a slight anise note and a fresh, green character to 8 Pound Pale Fresh Hop Ale. Opening with aromas of lemon and spice, 8 Pound Pale has a golden orange hue with a thick frothy head and a full malty body.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear orange hue with a medium to small white head. A light grainy nose. Citrus, toast, some fresh sweet hops, mango. Solid. Very good pale.

12 oz bottle from work. Aroma is nice enough, with a nice clean fresh hop profile of cantaloupe, pine, latex, flowers, sex. Pours clear copper with a collapsing bone-white head. Taste is light to medium bitter with a little candy sweetness alongside, finishing dry. Really tasty and refreshing.

Bottle from Boise Co-op. Pours out a nice deep golden body with tight creamy head. Beautiful! Soft hoppy aroma picks up in the taste. Creamy smooth consistency, velvety, gentle bitterness, tasty malts. This has it all. Just damn near perfect.
