Can. Pours dark amber-brown with a dark beige head. Aroma of stale roasted malt. Does have a tangy/sour taste as stated below that I just cannot get past. Drain pour.

4 oz draft as part of a 4 beer flight at Selma’s Chicago Pizzeria in San Juan Capistrano, California. The pour is a dark brown black with a small off white head. The aroma is faint caramel malt and a bit of cherry fruit. The taste is a cherry fruit, which is a bit off, along with caramel nut malt. The palate is medium to light bodied with the off fruit sweet aftertaste.

Bottle from Foothills Discount Liquor. Smooth and mild. Light aroma on top of brown body with soft creamy head. Taste is sweet, then nutty, overall nice texture. Mild bitterness from the roast grains lingers, Nice and smooth, but nothing special.

22oz bottle to myself on 5th May 2016 at a friends BBQ while in California. Guess the colour: correct, it’s brown, the head off-white and lasting. Semi-sweet with malty molasses ruling both the nose and taste: failed to find any traces of oak chips, be they French or American. Some chocolate notes can be found though: interesting and I enjoyed the beer even if it didn’t go with Ribs and hot weather.
