Another Full Sail brew and I think I have yet to try one that didn't satisfy...

It pours a dark brown with about a 2 finger head of foam that shrinks slowly to a fine layer. And yes, there's some good lacing.

The smell has notes of roasted and caramel malt and milk chocolate.

The taste has plenty of flavour. Roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, some toffee, and...it *does* have a nuttiness to it and, quite frankly, I was looking for it to be here and Full Sail did not fail to deliver. It's just as nutty as Samuel Smith's Nutbrown, imho, and that's a compliment all the way but, I digress. ;^)

It's on the medium side if medium bodied, the carbonation is just south of medium, and it finishes with a nice roasted malt bitterness that tells me I need to take another sip. Great drinkability here and as close to a session brew as a 6%abv brew can get. Damn. Full Sail *is* on top of their game. I just wish that they'd return to Casper so I wouldn't have to trade or go to CO to get some. ;^)

Bottom line: Another excellent brew from the gang at Full Sail that lived up to *my* expectations of an American Brown Ale and more specifically, a Nutbrown Ale. I am impressed!

355ml bottle. Pours a clear red-brown with a small, creamy, tan head that laces. Sweet aroma of roasted malt, caramel and nuts. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, chocolate, caramel and nuts with a dry, mildly bitter finish. Medium body with a smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. Ok.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a dark amber with medium beige head that lasts. The aroma is roast, cocoa, cracker malt. Medium mouth, pine, roast, cocoa, nice bitter finish, very good.

Bottle from Boise Co-op. Pours out dark, but clear brown with soft, silky beige head. Roast malts are featured in the aroma, taste is more malt with a touch of molasses sweetness. All rounded out with a some nutty undertones. Smooth, mildly bitter, easy drinker.

This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a nice looking hazy brown color with a two finger white to off white foamy head that dissipated within about a good full minute. The lacing was somewhat clingy.
The smell was full of rich nutty and coffee like aromas intermingling quite well.
The taste was mainly malty sweet and roasty adding in some light inviting chocolates, ccaramel, toffee and a light vanilla. There was a nice light roasty chocolate nutty coffee - like aftertaste that lead into a dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was there but it was kinda creamy, smooth and roasty.
Overall, wow, what a nice brown ale well worthy of having again.

12oz bottle pours a transparent, mahogany brown with some creamy, lacing white head. Nose is decent, crackers, brown sugar, lightly toasted bread, biscuit, a little toasted almond. Flavor is solid, a little raisin, brown sugar, biscuit, a touch of light coffee, bread crust, chewy grains. Medium bodied, dry, malty finish. Solid brown ale.

Draft at Beer Run. Pours a clear red-brown color with a creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of caramel, toffee, apples, nuts, other fruit notes. The taste is toffee, spicy hops. nutty notes. Medium bodied.

12 ounce bottle. Deep reddish brown color. Small beige head. Faint roasted malt aroma with light nutty undertones. Tangy toasted malt flavor has light notes of nuts and cocoa. Thin bodied and one-dimensional. Light spicy hops in finish.

12oz bottle from the state store. Pours dark brown with a small beige head, light lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, smokey and nutty. Taste is dark malts, caramel, grainy and nutty. OK, some metallic.
