Bottle 33 cl. Pours an opaque black with a rough, dissipating beige head. Lovely sweet cask aroma atop a subttle roast and dark, dried fruits. Medium body, low carbonation, base beer doesn't seem all that interesting, but that sweet Sherry cask is really carrying through. A pleasant sipper. 211218

0,33l bottle at home shared by me with 3, bought just recently from Acedrinks. Bottled 04/2015 BB 11.2018. dark brown color, small off-white head. smells earthy, nutty, marzipan, light peat, light wood. very nice smooth smell. full body, light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes earthy, bit ashy, leathery, nutty, marzipan, bit leathery, charcoal, light wood. finishes lightly dry and lightly roasty bitter with notes of ash, charcoal and some nutty notes. good one overall, but I am also not biggest fan of the balance. Feels a bit thin.

Almost black with thin soapy head. Aroma is very malty and has a little milk chocolate. Flavour is similarly malty and sweet but also has a light alcohol warmth. The whisky taste is quite limited and this maybe doesn’t have the depth enjoyed by some of the other versions. There’s virtually no smoke but also nothing like dried fruit that I would expect from a sherry cask. Still nice though.

Bottle. Almost black with a light tan head that settles to 1 cm and never disappears. Aroma of whisky and vanilla fudge, roasted malt, marzipan, grapes caramelised in the roasting pan. Soft silky texture, low carbonation. Praline, vanilla, more insistent roast than suggested by the aroma, a very little dried fruit, slightly peppery wood. A slightly earthiness to the chocolate praline. Old Engine Oil is quite transformed by this treatment and everything is well integrated. Again, goes well with raw almonds.

Bottled. A black beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, alcohol, sherry, grapes, and wood. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, alcohol, caramel, sherry, and wood, leading to a dry alcoholic finish.
