Pivo koje karakteriziraju visok postotak alkohola, golemo tijelo i jaki okusi slada. Ovo je pivo ozbiljno, čvrsto, intenzivno tamno, širokog balansa okusa, şirupasto, gorko-slatko s izvrsnim potencijalom starenja. U 18. stoljeću jaki stouti i porteri izvoze se iz Engleske u niz sjevernoeuropskih zemalja te su navodno bili popularni na ruskom dvoru, odakle mu i ime. Visoka razina alkohola evoluirala je iz nužde, jer ona sprječava smrzavanje piva u transportu. RIS treba poslužiti lagano ohlađen, od 10-15°C.

Bottle, 0.33l. Black pour, one finger creamy brown head, long lasting. Sticky lacing on the glass. Roasted malt and dark fruits on the nose. Bready, notes of coffee and cocoa. Full body, lively carbonation. Soft and smooth mouthfeel and texture, oily, chewy and thick. Quite nice. Roasty bittersweet taste. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, dried dark fruits. Cocoa, coffee, licorice. Hints of vanilla. Some wood notes, charred. Moderate to strong alcohol, dry and warming. Long lasting finish, boozy. Overall, quite decent RIS. However, it's totally overpriced. Not quite up there with the best of them and to be perfectly honest, local market-wise - Hyperbola form LD is better for almost half the price. Still, pretty good.

Bottled 330ml. -from Goblet Zagreb. Pitch black coloured, medium sized beige head, light chocolate in the nose. Chocolate, caramel, brown sugar, alcohol and light dust with sweet finish.

Shared with Hrabren. Black with a ring tan head. Aroma of rich dark malt, licorice, dark chocolate, coffee notes and booze. Flavour is heavy sweet and bitter. Full bodied with warming alcohol in the finish and soft carbonation.

Bottle, thanks Hrabren! Quite dark brown, almost black. Aroma, perfumey-alcoholic, perfumey orange, dark caramel, light chocolate. Dry taste, light gummi bears, caramel, lean, dry, alcohol, bitterish. Pleasant overall, light chocolate and all, light gummi bears. Now... this ain't half bad really. It's not a top class RIS, sure, but this is enjoyable by all means!

0.33 l bottle from Zagreb Booze, thanks Denis for this one. Shared with Marko and Ogi. Dark brown to black, small beige head. Dark cherry, dark chocolate, dark fruit, nuts, a touch of vanilla, a tart note, alcohol heavily present. Smooth, creamy, strong, roasty, slightly burnt, nicely fruity. Coffee emerges, some caramel. Some brown sugar. Finishes slightly sweet. Too alcoholic.
