Blackcurrant belongs amongst our most favourite fruits to use in a sour beer. Its intense sour and fruity character is a perfect match for the lactic sourness of our kettle sour. The sourness of this one might make you cringe your teeth a bit, but the flavour is totally worth it.

Canned 500ml. -Courtesy of Marko, shared with him & hrabren, thanks! Murky deep red/purple coloured, medium sized pink head, blackcurrant nose. Acidic blackcurrant and slightly lemony taste with light tartish finish.

0.5 l can thanks to Marko who brought it from Prague. Shared with Ogi and him. Deep purple, creamy pink head. Raspberry candy, red fruit jam, PEZ candy. Sour fizzy drink, blackcurrant juice, sour gummy candy, lemony, almost citric acid like. Medium body, moderate carbonation, moderate finish.

Canned from Base Camp. Murky dark purple body, pink small thick, lasting head. A bit sickly sweetish, blackcurrant, creamy. Creamy, light, earthy blackcurrant taste. Simple, quite okay, though not my favorite blackcurrant profile. Nooot my type.

Tap at 100 piv. Hazy, witch rich purple colour and purple head to match it. Medium sourness, slightly lactic, but mostly fruity, med-light blackcurrant tartness. The berries themselves are the center of the beer, med-high intensity, fresh feeling. Nothing much elsr going on. Straightforward, but at least it is a not-so-mainstream fruit this time. Easy drinking, refreshing, keeps the berry tannins in check. Quite good.
