0.5 l bottle from 'Bierothek', best before February 2022 (I guess). Clear, dark reddish brown with a medium large, foamy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, minimally roasty and a bit fruity aroma of caramel, toasted nuts and light chocolate. Gently sweet, malty, slightly fruity and a bit roasty taste of caramel, toasted nuts, some chocolate and light raisins, followed by a short, moderately bitter, a bit roasty finish. Medium body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Tasty Dunkel, well-balanced and smooth.

500 ml bottle from Landbierparadies, bb 03/2018.
Copper, clear body, with a big, fluffy, lacing, beige head.
Aroma of dark spicy bread, toast, caramel, cocoa, grains, grass, some coffee, some honey.
Tastes similar, with some more earthy notes.
Medium, a bit oily mouthfeel, with a lively carbonation.
Finishes medium roasty, a bit dry, toasty, spicy, grainy, grassy, hoppy, a bit sweet, subtly citric.
Tasty. Great, diverse, very dark Märzen, with lots of toasty and roasty notes, while also with some smooth creaminess at the same time. Full bodied and very quaffable. Lovely, rustic Lager, with a lot of character, perfect for Winter.

Euro-Fläschla: Clear, ruby-amber coloured, stable and lacy off-white head, moderate sweet-bitter toasty-fruity(raisins) nose, herbal hops and a rural touch in the background; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied and soft; lingering bitter-sweet finish with toasty and fruity notes, again. Another fine franconian brew...

Bottle from SinH4, many thanks! Dark amber with a creamy, frothy, lasting, beige head. Looks spectacular! Aroma is earthy with chestnuts, bread and some very light garbage notes - unfortunately. Taste is more chestnutty with some bread, light grass and some earthy bitterness in finish. Super fine carbonation. Elegant and very close to being spectacular altogether.

Bottle, courtesy of SinH4. Pours amber. Aroma is lightly toasted malts, floral. Body is medium, piney, sweet and bitter, with a soft but present carbonation. Caramel and nuts, quite intense for a Mrzen. Good.

Bottle from the brewery, poured into a Steinkrug. When pouring, it's clearly visible that this is much darker than your usual Märzen - basically dark amber / chestnut colored, with a large frothy beige head. Aroma is super earthy, chestnuts, bready, a touch roasted, super rustic, with a nice amount of herbal hops, cocoa powder, and burnt breadcrust, with an additional touch of Zwickel sulphur and berries. Taste is cappucino, tiramisu, earthy, leathery, chocolate, actually coffee-flavoured chocolate (which I love!), super rustic, herbal, with a solid bitter earthy finish, and also the right amount of Franconian juiciness to it. Extremely velvety mouthfeel with natural carbonation. A dream of a Christmas lager, it's super complex and super tasty - and has some flavours I've never experienced in a Lager. I'm serious, the tiramisu flavours in this one are stronger than in Tiramisu-themed pastry stouts, and it's not sweet at all.
