Bottle from Great Grog. Clear deep
Golden body with a white head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of straw and marzipan. Flavour of lightly roasted malt and earth. Thin to medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. This is a little disappointing. It’s watery and forgettable.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a cloudy, opaque orangey golden with a small, white head. Sweet, clean malty nose. Rich, malty body with flowery hops and a vitamin note. Fairly subdued bitterness. A Heller Bock to the sweet side, yet very delicious. 200524

On tap at Klosterbrau Bamberg. Hazy deep gold amber colour. Lasting white head. Tasty bock bier unfiltered. Plenty of character. Good hoppy finish. White pepper bitterness. Some honey flavour in the mouth. Not a top bock. But it's strong and good bitterness on the finish. Nowhere near the Griess back I had last night.

Bottle online from Raynville Superstore. Pours a hazy muddy orange colour with a two finger foamy white head. Aromas of grains, caramel, honey and crusty bread, with hints of citrus orange and stoney fruits. Taste has grains, lots of toasty bread and caramel, more honey, light nutty notes and more hints of orange and stoney fruits. Light toasty bitterness on the lingering bittersweet finish. Nicely balanced. Medium to full body, fairly low carbonation and smooth slightly sticky mouthfeel. This beer is excellent. Enjoying and will seek this out again one day.

Schnapp-Fläschla (Vielen Dank an Martin!!): Deep golden, hazy, lots of floaties visible, small white foamy layer, mild to moderate sweet-bitter raisiny-fruity nose with a mildly barnyardy background, a pinch of grassy hops and some traces of alcohol; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, medium to full bodied, neither...nor...; lingering sweet raisiny and dryish alcoholic finish. O.K., but pretty weak by franconian standards...
