The Albani Giraffe Beer was launched in August 1962 for the purpose of sponsoring a new giraffe for Albani's marketing after Kalle, the previous giraffe, had died. The Giraffe Beer was a success and enough was collected to acquire two new giraffes. The beer has a soft and aromatic taste, as well as a unique design.

Clear deep golden color with a fine white head. Heavy malty, sweet fruity and alcohol aroma. Thick body. Quite sweet and an unbalanced bitterness. Oily texture. Heavy malty, sweet fruity and lots of alcohol. Just horrible.

Trockener, alkoholisch angehauchter Abgang. 7/8/7/8/7/7

Clear golden colour, frothy white head, disappears quickly, nice lacing. Malty aroma, corn, hint of fruit, floral, woody. Taste medium sweetness,a mild bitterness that takes a while to develop, creamy, bit of fruit (plum?), some alcohol. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation, finish is well-balanced bittersweet, not very long.

Bottle. Pours clear golden with quickly vanishing white head. Clear aroma of booze and hop. Rather bitter sourish, watery taste. Too strong for its appearance. Not good.

Nice strong beer. It’s not very strong and I like that. It’s bitter sweet and has medium body and light carbonation. Aroma is crisp and clean.

Bottled, 0.33l. Clear golden color with medium frothy white head and lively carbonation. Malty aroma, grainy and light alcohol notes. Sweet malty taste with strong fruity notes and hints of corn. More sweetness than in a sweet fruit beer. Next time will add some giraffe piss for some bitterness ;) Medium body, slick texture and lively carbonation in palate. Amusing bottle appearance, but everything else is average...
