Bottled (CK, BB 07/2009). Clear amber color, small white head. Strong syrupy aroma of honey and vanilla, also loads of not so pleasant fruity alcohol. Full bodied, quite flat carbonation. Sweet grainy flavor: green apples, honey, some vanilla. Not really complex. Simple alcohol bomber but still kind of ok slow beer.

Bottle, Beer Ritz, Leeds. Poured a clear amber colour with a thin off white head. Seriously floral and sweet aroma...honey, bubble gum, syrup and malt. Niice. Flavour was sweet malt with a hint of fruit and spices. Soothing and warming. Lingering and multi layered finish, that was once more sweet, fruity and slightly dry. Good things do sometimes come in small packages.

Bottled (from Cracked Kettle). Amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is quite fruity, alcoholic and also has some biscuity notes. Flavour is smooth fruits, some wood as well as alcohol. Not really a complex brew, but indeed very balanced and drinkable.

Bottled at Monks Café Wallingatan, Stockholm. Clear amber, brief head. Resiny hops up front. Sweet and dense, quite hoppy. Gets drier underway when the intense doughy malt takes over. Salty resiny finish. Warming, but not very complex.

(Bottle, Monk’s Café, Stockholm) Dark amber colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of dried fruit, wild berries and caramel. Slightly vinous. Malty, fruity taste with dried fruit, raisins, caramel, apricots and a rather earthy, spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium to full body with a warming alcohol glow. Fairly sweet, but not as sweet as British barley wines sometimes are. Sweet fruit is nicely balanced by the earthy hops. In short: sweet but spicy barley wine easily savoured in moderate doses.

Bottle 0,18l. Golden colored. A large creamy head when poured from a distance. Sweet malty aroma. Soft mouthfeel. Flavor of grapes and other fruits. Aftertaste of sherry. The alcohol gives you a warming effect.
