500ml bottle [simply as "Landbier"]. Opalescent, chestnut colour with ruby shimmmer and average, dense, firm, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, off-white to beige head. Sweet-ish, minimally toasty and nutty, dark malty aroma, hints of malt lozenge, a touch of toasted nuts. Taste is minimally chocolately, mildly roasty, minimally nutty, dark malty, minimally caramel malty with subtle residual sweetness, hints of dark chocolate, a touch of coffee, malt lozenge, nougat, hazelnut.
Full body, watery texture, smooth and soft palate, medium to fine, dense, soft, creamy, mildly prickly carbonation.
Well crafted, well balanced, focussed, smooth, homogeneous - a real gem of unpretentious brewing.

Pours a dark reddish/light brown, with a healty, slightest off-white head that shows very good retention and lacing. Interesting and fairly strong aroma is mostly malty: dark bread and light caramel with a vivid nutty feeling; a very nice fruitiness (ripe red fruits) on the back; and a touch of spiciness too. Taste is medium to high sweet with medium bitterness; overall there is a sweet edge but the beer is still well balanced and has a fair semi-dry finish. Taste notes: dark bread, light caramel, light nuttiness, an earthy feel, ripe red fruits, a touch of spiciness. Very interesting in terms of complexity, sadly not super clean/defined; but that's ok for a franconian landbier, and this one definitely has a rustic feel to it. Light to medium bodied with medium carbonation, in an overall half creamy/half easygoing mouthfeel. Of course highly drinkable as the style demands. An interesting landbier.

Bottle from Hier gibts Bier. It pours cllear and rich brown in colour with a thick, fluffy beige head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, brown bread, malt loaf, touch of spice, dried leaves, wood and raisin. The taste is dry, bitter - sweet, rich maltage, toasty, dried fruits, malt loaf, toothy, brown bread, light spice, earthy, dried leaves, wood and touch of leather with a dry, woody finish. Moderate body and carbonation. Decent malt driven number.

Bottle at home, from Hier-gibts-Bier, 10/07/20. Deep copper pour with a decent beige cap. Nose is caramel, brown bread, stewed fruits, brown sugar dusting, dark malts, nutty tones. Taste comprises dried fruits, dates, light tobacco, brown sugar sprinkle, biscuit crumb, caramel. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, bitter sweet close. Decent ... would have liked just a touch less sweetness myself.
