Icelandic Arctic Berry Ale

Can. Clear gold color with a small, white head. Aroma is a fruity berry smell. Taste is like Trix cereal only not as sweet.

NOTE: They seemed to have dropped "Icelandic" from the name. Both the beer can that I got, and their website, just show the name as "Arctic Berry Ale".

AROMA: Slightly sweet with mild scents of malt, lemon, and meadow flowers, followed by a hint of sweet citrus (maybe orange?). As the beer warms, I start to get mild aromas of cardamom.

APPEARANCE: Pours a hazy, pale hay color, with a tall 3-finger, tight-frothed, white head that dissipates slowly, with very good lacing.

TASTE: Mildly sweet with flavors of lemon, blueberry, and lychee fruit. It's kind of an odd combination of flavors, yet it somehow works! Fresh from the fridge the lemon is more pronounced than the other flavors. But as the beer warms, the lemon drops off and the other flavors take the stage. The finish is lightly sweet.

MOUTHFEEL: On the thin side of medium-bodied. Texture is slightly smooth but still has just a hint of tackiness on the tongue. When looking at in a clear glass I would say that the carbonation level was high. However, when actually drinking it. it feels very soft on the tongue and I would say that the carbonation level barely reaches average.

OVERALL: I've enjoyed most of the other beers that I've tried from this brewer, and this one is no exception. While it's certainly not going to win any awards, I do find it to be quite enjoyable to drink. I think the biggest draw for me is that the flavor is slightly unique, yet doesn't go overboard with the "uniqueness" factor. Meaning, it provides a respite from the vast sea of "me too" beers, without offending the palate. I will happily buy this again. Especially during the summer, on a hot day, when the citrus and berry flavors would be the most refreshing.

Can from Stanislaus Brewskovitch, Zwolle. Aroma is fruity with bilberries, wheaty malt, floral and soapy notes, soda. Flavour is medium sweet and light bitter. Body is light to medium. I dig me some blueberries (bilberry in this case), but I’m not too fond of the sweetness in this fruity wheat beer.

Fruity nose. The beer starts fruity wheaty with red berries in the back. Somehow blueberry taste with a dry and slightly yeasty Wheat ale. Refreshing with a clean fruity aftertaste.

Can. A- Blueberry cheerios. A- Gold color, clear liquid, white head. T- Blueberry, cereal, powdered sugar. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, slightly sweet finish. O- Definitely has a nose and palate of a blueberry frosted grain cereal. It's okay for what it is. Not too sweet and fairly natural tasting.

Pours hazy yellow with a white head. It made a mild aroma of wheat and berries. The flavor is sweet with lightly tart berries and wheat malt. It’s straightforward and okay.

Can. Hazy yellow pour, small white head. Wheat and berries on the nose. Taste is wheat, minimal berries and fruit. OK.
