Bottled 500ml (BB 02/2012)
Dark brown-ruby color, small white head. Licorice, wood, hard candy in the nose, quite similar to Fullers ESB. Medium-bodied. Licorice, caramel, some English hops. Flavor is similar to some hard licorice candies. Ok brew, although a bit shy.

Bottled. Hazy ambery brown colour, small beige head, that leaves some lace. Aroma is caramel malts, some wood, mildnotes of toffee and also some slight earthy and herbal notes. Flavour is quite much the same in a rather nice and balanced way. Bitter and dry wooden aftertaste.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty toffee aroma. Sweetish malty caramel and toffee flavor. Has a sweetish malty caramel finish with some hoppy hints in the aftertaste.

50cl bottle. Thanks to Beerbiker. POurs cloudy copper with a full creamy egg white head. Sweet malty nose with hints of rye-bread and caramel. Toffee, rye-bread, sugar and vague hints of hops. Not a good product from the brewery.

Bottle at EBF 08. Amber, slight haze, lasting beige head. Some butter on aroma and in mouth. Maybe diacetyl, maybe should be like this. Quite English in character. Toffeeish. OK hop on finish. Not keen on the butter.

Had this at the European Beer Festival, Kobenhaven 13-09-08 Very nice but maybe a mistake after the Dark Lord. Pours classic amber in colour with white head, good string bitter characteristics.

Draught at Cockney Pub, Århus
Hazy amber color. From the very light sour aroma and a pungent bitter flavor, I guess that there is a light infection going on; the keg is probably only open for 3 days, I hope it’s not a problem at the brewery, as they can brew quite good beers.

bottle best before jun08, tasted jul08. "flat" aroma, yeast most dominant. dark unclear yellow with small head okay flavor, very small hint of sour, otherwise caramel, sugar, aged beer. very nice. reminds me of a very mild version of barley wine, probably bc. the bottle is a little old. tastes better than the score.
