April 2014: 330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 8.2%. OG 1072, FG 1010. IBU 107. Hops are Warrior, Summit and Amarillo. Unfiltered and unpasteurised. Amber colour, only slightly hazy, moderate head, slightly off-white. Strong aroma of fruity hops (oranges, tropical fruits). The flavour is medium sweet (= not too much) with distinct hops throughout, fruity first, piney and grapefruity bitterness in the finish. Love for hops indeed, but not murderous.

Cardinal 011114. Amber colour with a beige head. Aroma is malt, hop, pine, grass. Flavour is peaches, malt, hop, pine, grass, caramel. Medium body. Ordinary beer.

Bottle, at Cardinal. It’s an unclear, light amber colored beer with a dense, two-finger thick light beige head. The aroma is a bit on the malty side I think, sort of meaty, but with generous amounts of pine cones and resins. Some grass in the flavor, lots of bitterness, but still with a solid malty body. Pine cones and resins. Pleaseant carbonation, full body. Too malty for my likings this one, more like an Amber ale than a DIPA. Not bad though. 141101

Bottle 330ml @ Cardinal, Stavanger
Pours hazy amber with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, alcohol, floral and grass. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long warm, vinous, grassy and floral finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle. Pours a hazy pale amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity grapefruit hoppy aroma. Fruity malty grapefruit hoppy flavor. Has a fruity malty bitter grapefruit hoppy finish.

Appearance: Cloudy dark golden color (with floaties). An off white head that leaves a fine lacing.
Aroma: Powerful soft tropical fruity and grapefruit hoppy.
Palate: Medium + body. Moderate sweet and a rich bitterness. Average carbonation.
Taste: Grapefruit hoppy, malty, vinous, oakish and fruity.
Overall impression: High complexity but maybe a bit unbalanced and strange. Fun facts: Brygget 18 mars 2013. Tappet 19 april 2013. BB 29 oktober 2014. OG 1072. FG 1010.

Fra flaske på Cardinaltreff denne flotte maiaften: fint skum og med en bær-og sherryaktig aroma og smak som minner litt om barleywine. Uhyre lett i smaken for såpass høy voltstyrke. En sixpack ved grillen kunne vært fristende men fort blitt fatalt. Muligens er det de mener med humlemord?
