Fashioned after the famous ales from Burton-On-Trent which took on such bold character after surviving the long, rolling voyage from London to Calcutta in the days of the Empire. This is an amber colored masterpiece in the world of beer styles.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) A most beautiful orangey amber colour, with a deliciously creamy head leaving laces on the glass after settling slow. Nutty, malty with some sweetness perfectly balanced by a pronounced hoppiness. Beautiful hop aroma. Good stuff. 4.0

355ml bottle. Minimally cloudy, orangey golden to amber colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Citrusy hoppy aroma, notes of lemon, lemon tea, minimally sugary, caramel malty background, a minimally grassy touch, lemongrass. Taste is citrusy hoppy, minimally grassy, notes of lemon, lemon tea, caramel malty background with a touch of milk chocolate cookie. Underrated IMO.

From Trader Joe under the name KBC IPA. Pours a clear amber colour with a warm cap, decent retention and lacing. Aromas are very sweet with loads of caramel with a little hops. These are a little more present in the taste... at first, but then the caramel comes back. Luckily not as sweet as the nose, but still a little too rich to be a good IPA.

Bottle at home from trader joes. Mostly clear dark orange amber coloured pour with a sticky grey off white head. Aroma is toasted bread and caramel, dome orange rind and dirty pine hop. Some alcohol on the nose. Flavour is toasted Malts, dirty pine, orange, bark. Palate is semi sweet, medium bodied, highish carbonation. Meh.

12 ounce bottle. Labeled as KPC IPA from Trader Joe’s. Pours an Amber orange with a medium-sized rocky beige head. Faint citrus hop nose. Flavor upfront is tangy, toasted malt with a hint of pine and bitter citrus hops. Not very complex or interesting. Dry bitter finish.
