750 ml bottle at Asahiya. Acidic, somewhat acetic nose, chocolate, caramel, light spice. Oily, oaky body, vanilla and wood, again a bit of vinegar and also lactic acid. This is pleasant enough but as with most beers in this series it is not really clear what kind of character they are aiming for. A bit confused: not all that much bourbon (not first use I would guess), sour but also a bit acetic.

Refrigerated 12 oz. squat bottle poured into a weizen glass. Amber with small off-white ring head. Aroma is spicy, medium body, lower carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is caramel, spicy, oak, fruity, some bourbon.

Amber and slightly hazy. Not much head. bourbon nose and lots of sweet malt, peach, apricot and pear. Sweet, with a touch of tartness, mellow barrrel. The acidity is lively, and really helps lend style and complexity.

On tap at PIB 2017, pours a hazy amber orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out toasted nuts, light caramel and a touch of bourbon. Flavour is spicy and barrel-heavy, with lots of earthy bourbon character, toasted bready malt and light caramel. Quite dry for a bourbon BA beer. Nicely made. Unusual stuff.

Tap at Alehouse. Very hazy dark orange color with basically no head. Aroma is oak. Taste is bourbon, with all the vanilla, caramel, some raisins as well. Boozy finish. Low carbonation. Not excellent.

Tap at Alehouse. Pours cloudy amber with no head. Aroma is bourbon, booze, strong malts, candy. Body is medium, rather sweet but also bitter, flat, oily. Still strongly boozy, even on the palate. Not my type of beer, strong for the one dimensional flavours.
