BORIS #100 was made with the finest English Pale Ale malt instead of our usual American malt, to celebrate brewing the 100th. batch of BORIS The Crusher Oatmeal-Imperial Stout. This adds a slightly sweeter and truly traditional flavor for this truly bodacious English-style Imperial Stout, our flagship beer! Made in extremely limited quantites.

22 ounce bottle into snifter; bottled in late Fall 2011, so this is a year old now. Pours pitch black color with a small dark tan head with decent retention that reduces to a thin lace that lingers. Slight spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big dark chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, toffee, toast, coffee, molasses, bread, light char, oatmeal, and light dark fruits. Damn nice aromas with good balance, strength, and complexity; can definitely see the bready toast character from the English malts. Taste of big dark chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, toffee, coffee, molasses, light char, toast, biscuit, light nuttiness, raisin, oatmeal, and light tobacco. Light roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, caramel, toast, molasses, toffee, biscuit, dark fruit, oatmeal, and light tobacco on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic balance, complexity, and robustness of flavors; with a very pronounced malt backbone and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a creamy, thick, and slick mouthfeel that is very nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a highly excellent Imperial stout! Great balance and complexity of highly robust flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A highly enjoyable offering as expected.

22 oz. bottle, sent from jmikolich (thanks a lot, Jim), pours jet black with a brown head. Nose is very heavy, with lots of roasted malts, oatmeal, faint English malt tones, and some chocolate. Flavour brings out lots of chalky chocolate malts, bitter English roasted malt and a considerable hoppy character. Full-bodied, very roasted and very hoppy for an impie, also a bit of wood. Inferior to the other versions of BORIS, but still excellent.

Borefts warm up at Bier Temple, Amsterdam. Opaque black - brown beer, little dark tan head. A little sweet chocolate malt. Loads of sweet bubblegum esters. Mild fruits. Semi dry finish with more chocolatey malt. Not my favourite Boris - it’s a good beer but to much with the esters.

Sampled @ HaandBryggeriet Beer festival 2012. A black body with a creamy dark brown head that disappears quite fast. Fantastic aroma of dark, roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate and a hint of alcohol. Flavor is sweet, roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, dry fruit, fruity hops and a well balanced bitterness. Full body and a long and smooth aftertaste. Might be the place and the time, but this one really makes me happy.
