Bottle @ home shared with Ferris. Opaque pitch black color, full sized dense medium brown colored head that lasts for a long time. Awesome appearance. Aroma is malts, bourbon, a bit boozy, dark malts. Taste malts, dark malts, again some booze, bourbon, malt bitter. Decent to medium body, thinnish and oily texture at the same time, soft to average carbonation. Solid.

750 ml. bottle sampled @ RBBWG VI (2017). Black with zero head. Nose is quite alcoholic, almost vinous, black chocolate and licorice, roasted malts. Taste is basic bitter black chocolate, warming, sugar, heavy on licorice, roast, chicory coffee, boozy,... Body is decent thick black chocolate & alcohol. Nice but far more bitter than I like my RIS’s, for a beer with bourbon & vanilla, this is still quite bitter and roasted, it is boozy but no clear bourbon sadly. Good but not really what I love to see in a Bourbon BA RIS.
