Sample during Blarney Wine Festival 2025 on 03/15/2025. Clear dark copper color with a medium frothy light beige head that recedes gradually to a film. Sparse patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, caramel, fruit and hops. Medium to full body with flavors of caramel malt, ripe fruit and mild piney hops. The finish is mildly hoppy up front with a sweet malt aftertaste. Holding up pretty well.

2016 version sampled 2022. Had Bigfoot before, but didn't really remember it - and I never had it vintage. What a pleasant surprise this one was ! Pours a clear, darker amber. Medium white head. Medium intense dried fruits (raisins). Taste is still quite bitter, piney. Lovely ! Not at all to old. Lovely intensity. Like an amped up (more malty) West Coast IPA. Which makes 100% sense given the brewery, and the actual style of USA Barleywine. it's just been so long that I've had a US style BW, that I automatically expected this to be another amped up (modern US style, if you will) UK style (sweet) Barleywine. The amount of 'freshness' , such as bitterness and hoparoma, this had after 6 years in the bottle, was totally uunexpected too. Another reason this correctly viewed as one of the best breweries in the world !
