Buzzard is a traditional dark ale brewed with pale, crystal and chocolate roasted malts and Herefordshire hops. Deep copper red in colour with the roasted chocolate malt giving a dry nutty flavour with hints of amaretto biscuit. The finish in the mouth is a dry smoky smooth finish.

Bottle. Dark brown beer with a strong light brown head. The aroma is very lightly hopped and the flavour has a creamy feel and it is very bitter, roasted and toffee. Overall a nice dry and roasted hopped dark ale.

Bottled conditioned (from GBBF at Chriso). Dark nut-amber brown color, small beige head. Strong aroma of fresh oak. Fresh wood dominates the flavor, underlying caramel and grassy hoppy notes. Same flavors in the aftertaste. Quite balanced, but I would like to have my Old Ale a bit stronger.

(Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm, 2 Feb 2009) Mahogany colour with a frothy, pale brown head. Malty, nutty nose with notes of dark fruit and caramel. Malty, nutty taste with dark fruit, chocolate, nuts and a slightly bittersweet finish with earthy hops. Very well balanced and in really good shape. Nice, nutty and well balanced old ale.
