Bottled. Deep golden colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is sweet malts, some herbal and mild grassy notes. Flavour has some grains, sweet malts, mild grass and subtle wooden and resiny notes in the background. Pleasant and smooth.

Bottle picked up from the brewery and consumed at home Sunday 9th August 2020 listening to Fontaines DC - A Hero's Death and cooking Merguez with Butter Beans and Roasted Red Pepper in the Wood Oven. We had a cycle ride to Biergarten Schloßallee. Pours dark gold edging towards copper colour with excellent clarity and a slim white head. Quite malty and with a clean caramel flavour, light fruity, a little thin, ok.

“Winkler Bärentrunk“, Flasche vom Winkler in Berching. - Helles Goldrot, klar. - In der Nase milde getreidige Süße, Karamel. - Antrunk satt malzig mit etwas Toastbrot, ein wenig Karamel, gedämpfter Honigsüße, nussiger Bittere und aromatisch etwas neutraler Hopfenherbe. Mild rezent, vollmundig, glatt. Im Abgang leicht derbe krautige Herbe, Bockbier-ähnlich. - Eigenartiges, etwas alt wirkendes aber schon trinkbares Märzen. (29.4.2019.)

Bottle (bought at the brewery): deep golden to light amber coloured, lively carbonation, firm + stable off-white head, robust grainy and sweet-malty nose, distinctively supported by some bisquits and bittering hops, solid sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied, soft MF; lingering sweet and bitter-aromatic finish. Well balanced, very pleasant stuff.........

(bottle) Clear, bright amber colour with a medium-sized, slightly tanned foamy head. Sweet cara-malty nose with sour dough, a touch of vegetables and a present hoppy note. Sweet flavour with a bitter edge, light to medium bodied, well-carbonated mouthfeel. Moderately toasty malty taste with light notes of caramel, a touch of barnyard and sour dough; slightly sweet finish with a balancing hoppy bitterness coming through.
