A riff on the robust porter style, ours is hopped amply with Polaris and has a distinct black malt character. Earthy and eucalypic on the nose, this smooth porter pours pitch black, as the name suggests. Black malt adds a carbonic, lightly smokey finish.

Clear light dark brown color with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, dark malt, roasted, caramel, light coffee. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, dark malt, coffee dusty, roasted, malt bitter, dry. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20160123]

Draught sample. Pitch black with a thin, tanned head. Roasted aroma with dark malts, red berries, licorice and fruity hints. Taste is bitter-roasted. Medium body. Finishes dry and roasted. Nice Porter.

Check this tasting, Odense 2015. Near black with a lasting off-white head. Dark malty aroma with licorice and dark chocolate and light fruity notes of peach and orange. Dry and roasted flavour with coffee and chocolate notes and light fruity notes.
