Bottle. Brown color with tan head. Aroma is chocolate, bready, breadcrust some roasted characteristics. Taste is rusty, a bit vegetal, earthy, bready and breadcrust again. Oily mouthfeel. Okay.

(swing top bottle) Clear, dark brown colour with a firm medium-sized and tanned foamy head. Leafy malty, mildly roasted aroma with notes of bread crusts and shades of mocha and dark chocolate. Mildly sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a smooth carbonation. Dark and slightly roasted malty base with leafy accents, dark chocolate and bready notes; sweet and slightly roasted bitter finish with cautious notes of chocolate at the very end. Likeable. 23.VIII.16

Nice deep dark brown coloured body with a perfect, three centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of caramel, light malt, toffee and a touch of subdued alcohol. Medium-bodied; Assertive toffee and caramel flavours with a very good sweetness and a mild toasted malt flavour as well. Aftertaste shows the grain and a little earthy malt, but mainly the caramel and toffee sweetness finishes this out nicely. Overall, a good schwartz at a very reasonable price that is easy to find! I sampled this 50 cL swing-top bottle purchased from Spar [Gourmet] in the centre of Wien, Austria for €1,59 a few hours ago, sampled in my hotel room here in the middle of Wien on 21-March-2016.

Bottle at Erzbierschof Monday Club. Intense roast aroma in the mouth, but not in the nose. Roasted chicoree coffee. Almost as strong as porter, impressive.

500 ml flip-top bottle from a supermarket.
Almost black body, with a big, creamy, lacig, dark beige head.
Aroma of dark bread, grains, caramel, dark fruits, roast.
Taste is quite light, with about the same aromas and some more cocoa.
Medium, creamy mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation.
Finishes medium roasty, quite dry, bready, a bit dark fruity.

Good. Not much sweetness fortunately, with some nice dryness, but too mellow for my taste. Decent beer, but a quite soft style example, which is propably intended, as their clientele is more mainstream.
