A tasteful ode to our parents and grandparents station wagons of yesteryear. The sailboats of the road that offered a backseat experience took us all way back. Bonneville is an American style barley wine that was aged in bourbon barrels for 19 months. Like a wood paneled land yacht, Bonneville comfortably seats a family of characteristics: caramel, marmalade, black tea, marzipan, and vanilla.

Brown. Aroma is vanilla hazelnut some caramel. Complex. Taste is heavy alcoholic date juice. Heavy but smooth. Not bad.

Reddish brown. It does have that fantastic bourbon barrel aged light-umami sweetness, smells like you could drink liters of it (in tiny sips) for hours until you pass out. Flavor is perfectly balanced, a touch of soy / lots of bourbon / good sweetness / hop & tannin bitterness. Yes, after tasting, you could drink it until you pass out. If you could get enough of it :-)

Sample. Jam and roast, bread, medium body, jammy toast, lightly oxidized, pleasant bourbon, good balance, light perfume. Nice.

(375ml bottle from somewhere...) Pours clear copper with a tiny off white head. Notes of brown sugar, toffee, dried pit fruits, loads of orange preserves and peels, ample leathery oak, moderate bourbon, some drying spirit heat, tannic tea-like vibe from the combination of wood and hop resins in the back end. Lightish body for style with almost no carbonation. Other than lacking a substantial mouthfeel, this is surprisingly lovely. A touch hot and woody as I expect from BA Jackie O's, but the orange-driven fruit character was an unexpected surprise.
