21-01-20 // taster from a bottle at a tasting with orca at Hochschule Geisenheim Batch with 5.3% Lovely. Easy sour saison. Good sourness, maybe too much for balance but great for me. Saisony hay grainy body. Very smooth. Mild lactic. Good.

From the bottle, 6 days before the expiration. Pours gold with a foamy white crown. Aroma is yeasty and spicy with green apple notes. Taste is tart to sour, finishes the same, dry and warming but with a light wateriness at the very end. Body is medium, carbonation is moderate. A bit of a let down.

Bottle. Hazy orange color with medium off-white head. Aroma is lacto, dough, hay, banana wheat esters, some citrus. Taste is a bit acidic at first, but then the underlying wheat flavours with quite some banana cream come through. Silky mouthfeel, slightly tart finish. The Bavarian wheat character and the Saison tartness don’t really work together well.

(bottle, 33cl) Slightly hazy, amber colour with a short and off-white frothy head. Earthy malty aroma with delicately sour notes of citrus, oranges, backed by a spicy herbal and yeasty touch. Sour-tart flavour, light to medium bodied with a lively carbonation. Moderately acidic fruity and mildly malty taste with delicately funky notes; dry, sour-fruity and spicy finish. 13.VIII.17
