(bottle) Clear, golden colour with a blond medium-sized foamy head. Biscuity and mildly grainy (cara-)malty aroma with herbal and slightly floral hoppy notes. Sweet-bitter flavour, medium to full bodied with a smooth carbonation. Delicately biscuity malty taste with present herbal hops drying-out the rounded malty and hoppy finish with a bearable alcoholic glimpse. Solid Franconian quality. 04.XII.11

Bottle from Abseits Café, Bamberg
Blond color, light for a Bock; small head. The aroma is light, sweet maybe, I would say poor. The mouthfeel is round, although the body is not too strong; the flavor is sweeter than a regular Bock, but the malt flavor is very subdued; medium to low bitterness; some alcohol perception in the end, but light. Somehow a refreshing character, for a Bock, but really nothing special.

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. The beer tastes alcoholic, modest spicy and malty, the finish is much too sourish. Not a good bock!

Test vom 21.2.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 8,8,9,5,7,7 - 7,25

Bottle: Clear, deep golden coloured, mid-sized, fluffy and stable head; malts, caramel and dough in the nose, a tinge of hops too; full sweet (malty) flavour with a distinctive bitterness; longer, bitter-sweet finish with some traces of alcohol; quite well rounded and well quaffable......................
