Bottle, courtesy of Koelschtrinker. Pours dark brown with a medium foam and some retention. Aroma is coffee and green peppers, roasted malts. Body is medium and pretty sweet, but still having that coffee bitterness that beer usually doesn’t have. Carbonation dampens sweetness quite well, making this surprisingly easy to drink. Softly sour, too.Still the balance does not quite work out. A good stout, but with some possible improvements.

Pours very dark brown from the bottle. The tan head is thick and foamy, but soon subsides. Aroma is coffee, strong roasted notes, hints of chocolate, berry, and booze. Taste is mildly sweet up front, moving over to lightly bitter with tangy notes on the finish. Nice and pleasant, not a whole lot going on, but this is steady, reliable pleasant sipping. Something you could drink more than one of too without immediately toppling over. Medium body with relatively low carbonation. Good.

0.33 l bottle from ’Biermuda’, best before April 2017. Clear, very dark red to black with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, moderately roasty aroma of lots of coffee, dark chocolate and some licorice. Slightly bitter, malty and quite roasty taste of lots of coffee, dark chocolate, licorice and hints of dark fruits, followed by a medium long, rather roasty-bitter, slightly dry finish. Medium body, slightly creamy but rather effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Very tasty, could be creamier, but overall really nice!

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with average, thick, creamy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Slightly ephemeral, intense coffee aroma with chocolately and mocha notes, roasty dark malty basis with a salty and a liquorice touch; hints of wax turn up with the coffee notes fading away little by little. Taste is bitter, roasty dark malty, notes of cold coffee, moderately sweet, sugary undertones, hints of treacle; creamy to oily texture, soft, minimally sticky palate, lasting sweet finish.

(bottle, 33cl) Almost black coloured hue with a beige medium-sized foamy head. Roast-malty aroma with notes of coffee, grounded coffee beans, also hints of dark chocolate and a whiff of vanilla. Bitter-sweet flavour with a whiff of acidity, medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Dry roasted malty base with a moderate kick of coffee, also hints of dark chocolate; lasting and rounded bitter-sweet coffee-ish finish. Very likeable. 09.XI.16

Bottle. Dark brown color with beige head. Aroma is aromatic coffee, quite like a cold brew, indeed also bluebeeries and vanilla, nutty as well. Taste is the same. Silky mouthfeel, quite light for the intense flavour. Very nice!

0,33 l bottle from Flaschenmeisterei, Münster. Pitch black in the glass, nearly two finger light beige frothy head. Coffee on the nose, malty with fruityness in the background. Taste starts with coffee, coffee, coffee. But easy to drink, malt and caramell in the background. Smooth fruityness in the second row. Totally hidden alcohol. Really nice stuff.
