Vor über 15 Jahren wagten sich unsere Brauer an das Thema Weizenbier. Es wurde getestet, getüffelt und für gut befunden. Aus dem einstigen Experiment, dessen Ergebnis Brauer und Biertrinker im selben Maß überzeugte, wurde 1999 das helle Hefeweizen zur festen Größe im Huppendorfer Sortiment.

Eingebraut mit 60% Weizenmalz und vergoren mit obergäriger Hefe, steigt der Duft von Banane und Nelke angenehm in die Nase, geschmacklich abgerundet durch eine leichte Bittere.

50cl bottle from Bierzwerg. Poured hazy orange with a frothy, everlasting head. Aroma is wheat, slightl spiciness and banana. Flavor is mostly wheat, citrusfruits and peppery notes. Kind of musty, medium bodied. Decent, enjoyable hefeweizen.

Cloudy bond color; creamy head. Spicy wheat aroma, perfumy. Smooth mouthfeel, with spicy wheat character; very low fruitiness; low bitterness too. Pleasant.

Bottle. Sweet over-ripe banana, orange. clove, and wheat malt aroma. Hazy yellow-tan color with moderate head. Strong clove, light fruit (banana/orange) and wheat malt flavor. Palate on the light side. Decent, spicy but light weizen.

Bottle 50cl. @ home.Unclear hazy medium orange color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, caramel notes, moderate yeasty, banana. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium, texture is creamy to watery, carbonation is soft. [20090824]

Bottle. Good banana aroma. Cloudy orange colour. Stable rocky off-white head. The flavour has a good banana note, not so much citrus, but a little bitterness to balance.

Draught@Bamberger Weissbierhaus (as Grasser Hefeweizen). Hazy yellow colour with mediumsized creamy white head. Nice lace. Aroma is banana, wheat, some spices, mild earth and also mild herbal notes. Flavour is wheat, some banana, mild herbal notes as well as some slight citrusfruity notes as well.

Cloudy tan. Banana aroma with clean pale malt note. Fluffy, slightly marshmallowy with nice light banana character. Just slightly candyish in the finish.

(6/31/08) Draught at Cafe’ Abseits in Bamberg. Cloudy yellow with a white head. Aroma is a bit weak for a Weizen with some fruity esters and light clove notes. Sweetish wheaty flavor with light sourness, some banana and some spiciness. Medium-bodied.

Hazy pale golden with tiny head. Sweet wheaty and yeasty aroma with banana notes. Sweet flavor with wheaty, fruity and yeasty notes. Ends sweet.
