Light and dark, blissfully united. The advantages of light and dark Ottakringer beer are combined in the G’mischtes to create a balanced, elegant beer. The maroon colour gives an indication of the hint of delicate bitter chocolate. The fine hop aroma of the slightly malty, but not too sweet note of the dark beer plays around the palate and completes this balanced mixed beer.

clear reddish dark amber colour, half inch creamy yellowish-beige-ish head; aroma of dried plum, maybe raisins, some nuts and toasted rye bread; taste is the same; correct beer ;
re-tasted in July 2025 and the initial score changed from 6.4 to 7.3 - it is also a possibility that they made some (dramatic) change in the recipe and/or the brewing process, but most probably I was so strict with my rating back in 2017...anyway! the thing is that it is a good beer! :)

Thnx to Stefan ! Can’t believe it, I spent years without finding a polotmavy, now I got 3 in a month :p Thnx man ! Pours clear, darker amber, with a OK, yet rather fast fading white head. Smell is rich, malty ( toast, caramel) very gentle hop side to it (very distant grassy features ) Taste is relatively bitter. Rich caramel / toasty malts, which I really like, A decent (creamy) body with a sharp ’bite’ to it from the malts. Very nice one. i enjoy it and it’s drinkability.

0.5 l can, best before April 2017, from Sebilinz via Euro local swap 3/2016, thanks Erich for what is officially my final Style! Clear, dark reddish amber with a medium large, rather dense, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish-malty aroma of caramel, nuts, bread and some honey. Sweetish, malty, bready taste of caramel, nuts, bread and a bit of honey, followed by a short, slightly bitter, minimally roasty finish. Thin to medium body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Well, definitely drinkable, just very plain.

(can) Clear, amber colour with an off-white and short foamy head. Bready and slightly nutty malty aroma with hints of caramel and mildly grainy spots. Moderately sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with an almost crisp carbonation. Slightly dark malt character with notes of caramel, bread and a vaguely nutty touch; moderately sweet malt-accented finish with caramel and delicately herbal hoppy spice. Likeable Polotmavý from Austria. 08.IX.15

Canned 500ml. -Clear dark amber coloured, medium sized tan head, dusty caramel nose. Sweet malty, sugary, caramel, notes of nuts and touch of metal with dry and a way too sweet finish.

Jan. ’16. A 0.5 l can that poured a clear brown body with a small head. A bit metallic caramel aroma. Flavor was lightly sweet, caramel, but also grainy and a little bit fruity in ripe apple way. Thin to medium in body with oily mouthfeel despite the initial grain note. Moderate to short finish, caramel and some milky caramel cookie. Drinkable, okay, but nothing special, rather boring.
