Bottle from Arcade Corkscrew. Pours a clear dark golden color, topped with a foamy white head. Caramel malt aroma, quite lots of it. A bit floral. Sweet and malty with caramel presence. Mild bitterness with a bit metallic aftertaste. Drinkable, though nothing amazing.

Bottle at La Fregate Hotel, St. Peter Port, Guernsey. Poured a light copper brown colour with a small white head. Aroma of caramel, malt, cinnamon and apple. Medium sweetness and light bitterness, with a light sourness too. Medium body, texture is slick, average carbonation. Finish has a dry fruity feel, slightly sour. Decent enough ale.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Ariel’s place. Thanks kerenmk. Clear amber. Aroma of malt, caramel, some stale/dusty character and some fruitiness. Sweetish flavor, stale-ish, with malt, caramel, light toast and a bit of fruitiness. Medium-bodied.

Flaske delt på RBHD-samlingen hos Asle Bjørn: fint men kort skum. Klar rødgylden farge. God bitterhet med litt frukt og karamell. OK uten å være hverken særpreget eller minneverdig.

Copper. Almost no head. Slightly metallic aroma of caramel prunes and dried fruits. Better taste, with more hops, but still balanced with caramel and malts. Good drinkability, but a bit one-dimensional.

Shared 500 ml bottle from Guernsey, probably filtered and pasteurised. ABV is 5.0%. Cognac / caramel colour, moderate off-white head. Malty aroma with caramel and brown bread. The flavour is first malty with some caramel (but not very sweet), then moderate hops take over. Not as good as the cask version, but drinkable enough.

On cask @ Fountain Inn, St. Sampson, GY. Cloudy dark yellow in the glass, smooth and fresh beginning. Nice ale characteristics with only hints of malt. Easy to drink and not too sweet. The mainpart is smooth, ale bitterness together with a smooth hint of malt. The aftertaste is malty, smooth-dry, nicely bittered. Dry malt with a nice ale bitterness remain on the tongue together with hints of sourness.
Much better and more round than the bottled version! 13/12/13/13

Bottle from Waitrose, St. Peter Port. 5.0% Smooth and malty start. Quite sweetish and easy to drink. Malty sweetness lies over the beer, slightly dry bitter aroma in the aftertaste, but still quite sweetish. Long lasting aftertaste, malty sweetness, slightly bitter with hints of bitter-ale aroma.

Cask pints (numerous) at The Last Post, Guernsey. Cask ABV is 4.5%. (ABV of the bottled version is 5.0%.) Copper to brown colour, low creamy head, slightly off-white. Malty aroma with some caramel and toffee notes. Malty flavour too, toffee and nutty notes, a little fruit, very moderate hops - a very British character overall.
