Thornbridge’s first ever Nitro beer is here! Ena is a smooth milk stout, brewed with an array of roasted malts and oats to give a beer full of rich coffee, chocolate and toasted flavours. Lactose, an unfermentable milk sugar, is added to the boil to balance the complex grain bill and give the finished beer a luxurious finish.

Draught@Littlepub, Vaasa. Black colour, mediumsized pale beige creamy head. Aroma is roasted, some lactose, mild nutty notes with chocolate and a wee bit of ashes. Flavour is nutty, roasted malts, mild milky and some chocolaty tones. Quite smooth, and nice creamy palate.

Cask at Hops, Crewe. Pours almost black with a small frothy cream head. There’s lactose and malts in the aroma, but not overwhelmingly so. In the mouth it has a creamy texture with flavours of roasdted malts, lactose and toffee plus some hints of raisins and chocolate. Finish is quite milky. This is a good solid decent milk stout, but nothing outstanding.

Cask at the Alex, Derby RB lash up, 11/02/22. Black with a well presented tan head. Nose is mellow roast, charr, dried fruit rinds, cocoa powder, toffee. Taste comprises roast malts, toffee, light spice, dark fruit notes, cocoa sprinkle. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Decent cask stout.

Keg at Brewdog Canary wharf. An oiky nut brown coloured pour with a a loose biege head. Aroma is oily, powered Choco, apple, little perfume, semi sweet. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, milky chocolate, stale grains, hazelnut, light bark. Flavour is composed of semi sweet rounded, oily, lowish carbonation. Fine.

Keg @ Hogshead Brewhouse, Sowerby Bridge. Black with a small off-white creamy head. Its aroma is fully nutty-roasted, its taste similar only slightly less stated.
