Eddy is a modern farmhouse ale (saison). Bright and lively, this beer is dry, light and crisp, and straw yellow in color. Delicate aroma hops add herbal, floral and citrus notes that compliment the spice and fruit flavors of our house yeast. With a pleasantly tart finish, this beer goes down easy, and leaves you looking for another sip.

Draught at Sur Lie, Portland, November 2014
Mildly hazy amber-tan colored body has a small white head showing moderate to moderately-low retention.
Light fruity esters in the nose and moderate peppery phenols and noble hop notes (or at least, not high alpha PNW hops). Wow, an American-brewed saison that isn’t using PNW hops??? I almost fell out of my chair. To boot, it smells quite Belgian saison-like, with no spicing or insipid sweetness. Quite dry from the nose, with a fair dose of bready/grainy malts. No alcohol or flaws.
Bready and biscuity malts are softened, somewhat, by honeyed malts and light dough, while yellow fruit flavors, soft herbs and dry, peppery spices all come to balance. The beer was in great shape, adding a tight carbonation to keep the beer crisp and refreshing. Attenuation is high and no alcohol or flaws noted. Not breaking any ground here (other than not using American hops, which kind of seems revolutionary at this point) or anything flashy here, but a well-made Belgian saison. Perhaps a bit too biscuity/bready/grainy as others have mentioned, but the esters and phenols are all quite elegant and the beer isn’t too sweet, which I think are the two most important qualities in a saison.

750 ml bottle purchased at 7-11 Kittery, ME. Hazy straw color with thin head in the snifter. Aroma is wheat, zesty yeast, and mild yeast.
Flavor is is spot on for style, nice spicy yeast in the finish. The citrus is here as well with it being an under current. Mouthfeel is pretty nice, kind of lively, crisp. Very mild hop in there for balance.
